As you begin your career in PR, or the communication’s field in general, there may be times where you find seeking resources that give you some form of aid to be very useful. One good site in particular is  Poynter.  Below, you will see three links that will bring you to some of the site’s most beneficial areas.

1. Job openings for communications and PR professionals: This is a pretty straight forward one. Obviously in order to begin a career in PR or communications, you actually have to find a job. Luckily, sites like Poynter give you a lengthy list of open jobs across the country. Happy searching!

2. How to’s: This portion of the site is separated into 4 sections…

It will supply you with quick tips for building journalism skills, from reporting and to using Twitter. There’s a wide variety and a lot you can learn from.

 

3. Training and seminars:Through the training and seminars offered to you on the Poynter site, you will gain a better understanding of your field by learning new techniques and maybe refining some old ones. For example, two of the online courses offered at this moment are Understanding Social Media Tools and Techniques and Reporters Without Editors: How to Edit Your Own Writing (2012).
